Mobile Device Management

Mobile Device Management

Mobile Device Management (MDM) is a set of tools and policies that are meant to manage the mobile devices in an organization. MDMs are used to remotely manage, update, and secure smartphones and tablets. MDM is the most efficient way for organizations to enforce security policies on mobile devices. It provides a centralized management system for all the smartphones and tablets in one’s organization, which ensures that all devices are up-to-date with the latest software patches and are secured from potential malware attacks. MDM solutions can be either on-premises or cloud-based. On-premises MDM solutions are installed on a server and managed by an administrator. Cloud-based MDMs are usually hosted in a data center and managed by the company providing the service. A Mobile Device Management solution enables an enterprise to control how the device is used, what it can do and which applications can be installed or run on it.
